We're working on a complete beginner's guide to arbitrage 📓
Already familiar with the basics? Skip ahead.
This is market-neutral arbitrage: you earn not from price movement, but from regular funding payments* collected by holding a position on Binance (or another crypto exchange). You hedge it with the opposite position on UTEX.
*Funding is a periodic payment exchanged between traders on opposite sides of a trade. When the perp price trades above spot, longs pay shorts. This makes holding a long more expensive, pushes some traders to sell, and pulls the perp price back toward spot — a self-correcting mechanism.
Funding fluctuates constantly and can turn negative. On Binance it's typically settled every 8 hours (sometimes every 4). UTEX charges no funding, so the two sides won't offset each other.
How to get started
1️⃣ In the Binance Futures funding section, find an instrument with positive funding (longs paying shorts). Review the last 7–14 days of history — you want a consistently positive rate, not a one-time spike.
2️⃣ Open a long on UTEX and a short on Binance at the same time, for equal sizes. Use isolated margin, not cross margin.
Your return = (position size × funding rate × number of intervals) − overnight fees − one-time commissions.
To break even, your daily funding income needs to cover the daily overnight fee plus any one-time commissions.
⛽️ Take gas (GASM) as an example:
Overnight rate (0.0194%/day) ÷ 6 intervals (4-hour funding) ≈ 0.0032% — that's your breakeven funding rate per interval.
Once you factor in one-time commissions, you need roughly ~0.01% per interval. In May, natural gas (NATGAS) was yielding ~3.3% over 3 days — but windows like that tend to be short-lived.
Key risks
⚠️ Funding can drop to zero or flip negative.
⚠️ Prices can diverge between platforms by 1–3%.
⚠️ A sharp price move can trigger liquidation — your Binance position could get blown out while UTEX is closed (weekends or maintenance). Keep a healthy buffer from liquidation on both legs.
Bottom line: a viable strategy, but it takes active monitoring, careful math, and discipline. Arbitrage isn’t a form of passive income.
Got it?
👍 Yep, I'll give it a try
🔥 I'll wait for the detailed guide

Micron soared after earnings. WidePoint wins contract with US government agency
↘️ Darden Restaurants (DRI) -3%. The restaurant operator beat quarterly profit estimates and issued a 2027 fiscal year forecast above expectations. Nevertheless, shares are currently in the red.
↗️ Micron (MU) +18%. Quarterly results significantly beat revenue and earnings per share expectations amid surging demand for memory used in AI systems. Even more impressive was the fourth‑quarter guidance: revenue of $49–51B versus a consensus of $43.24B. Western Digital and SanDisk are also up 10%+.
↗️ Qualcomm (QCOM) +10%. At its Investor Day, the chipmaker presented an ambitious strategy to reduce its dependence on the smartphone market. By 2029, management forecasts up to $40B in revenue from non‑smartphone segments, driven by aggressive expansion into data centers and automotive technology. The data center segment alone is expected to generate billions of dollars by 2027.
↗️ International Business Machines (IBM) +5%. The company announced a breakthrough in chip technology with a process node below 1 nanometer. “IBM's new sub-1 nm chip packs nearly 100 billion transistors onto a chip the size of a fingernail, nearly twice the density of IBM's 2 nm chip, unveiled in 2021,” the company says in a statement. The new chip offers up to 50% better performance and 70% greater energy efficiency compared to IBM's 2nm chips.
🔥 WidePoint (WYY) +50%. A provider of secure mobile device management solutions. The company was selected as the sole awardee of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cellular Wireless Management Services (CWMS) 3.0 contract. This is a 10‑year contract with a maximum value of approximately $3.1B. WidePoint will manage device lifecycle, connectivity, security, and operational requirements across all DHS components.
“This accomplishment solidifies the second catalyst I’ve discussed previously, the first being the contract with one of the three largest carriers in the United States. Progress across our Device-as-a-Service pipeline, which serves as our third catalyst, is also currently underway. CWMS 3.0 creates a durable and expandable pathway for WidePoint to deliver mission-critical communications-related capabilities at scale across the federal government”, said CEO Jin Kang.
↗️ TD SYNNEX (SNX) +8%. One of the world's largest distributors of IT hardware and software solutions. Earnings per share and revenue easily beat Wall Street expectations. “We delivered a record quarter with broad-based strength across Distribution and Hyve, building on the momentum we have carried out of recent quarters,” said CEO Patrick Zammit.

Buy SpaceX without buying SPCX
The rocket came back down to earth: SpaceX lost $600B+ in market cap in three days, and shares fell to $147, which is below the opening price. Yesterday the company shed $400B — this is the second-largest single-day drop in history after Nvidia last year (-$590B).
Musk's main motivations for the next decades are his ambitions and bonuses tied to two targets: orbital data centers with 100 TW of capacity (60M shares) and a Mars colony of 1 million people plus SPCX market cap hitting $7.5T (200M shares). If falls short, and his pay drops to just the base salary of $54,000 a year 🥲
The massive plans 🪐
Scaling Starship requires thousands of launches per year and sending millions of tons of cargo into space. The company needs ultra-light alloys, composites, fuel systems, avionics, and more.
Orbital data centers need millions of satellites with enormous computing power — chips, radio modules, cooling systems, and solar panels.
A Martian colony ultimately means manufacturing everything here on Earth: from rockets and modules to life support systems, food, and fuel.
Who will supply SpaceX 🔩
✨ STMicroelectronics (STM) — billions of RF chips for Starlink. The company expects volumes to double by 2027.
✨ Honeywell (HON) — flight control systems and avionics.
✨ Carpenter Technology (CRS) — specialty alloys for Starship and its engines.
✨ Hexcel (HXL) — composites and carbon fiber for thousands of Starships. A SpaceX partner for over 10 years, with HXL materials specifically adapted for them.
✨ Howmet Aerospace (HWM) — titanium components, fasteners, engine parts.
✨ Materion (MTRN) — niobium and specialty materials for extreme temperatures, critical for Starship engines.

↘️ Cerebras Systems (CBRS) -10%. The AI chip maker reported first‑quarter revenue of $193.4M, beating the forecast of $181.4M. The full‑year revenue outlook also exceeded consensus. Shares are currently in the red – apparently, investors were hoping for a more significant beat to justify the company's valuation following its IPO in May.
↘️ FedEx (FDX) -7%. The company beat earnings per share and revenue expectations, but full‑year guidance appears to have disappointed investors.
↘️ Hertz Global Holdings (HTZ) -16%. The car rental company lowered its second‑quarter profit forecast and announced plans to raise capital through equity and debt offerings.
↗️ Wendy's (WEN) +21%. The fast‑food restaurant chain appointed a new CFO. A short squeeze is theoretically possible – the WallStreetBets subreddit is urging investors to buy the stock.
↗️ Twilio (TWLO) +5%. Goldman Sachs recommends buying TWLO with a $300 price target, projecting 63% upside potential. The firm cited strong growth metrics and momentum from AI development.
↗️ Take‑Two Interactive (TTWO) +3%. The company set the price for the long‑awaited game "Grand Theft Auto VI" at $79.99 and confirmed its November 19 release date.
↗️ Absci Corporation (ABSI) +28%. The biotech company released positive interim Phase 1 safety data for its drug candidate ABS‑201 – an experimental antibody for treating hair loss. The company reported that the therapy was well tolerated across all dosing groups, with no serious adverse events recorded.
↗️ FuelCell Energy (FCEL) +14%. The company announced a strategic agreement with Fit Energy USA to supply up to 380 megawatts of clean electricity for data centers using its fuel cell technology.

Top ideas for trading this week
🔴 Micron (MU). The report will be released on June 24 after market close. The stock has risen over 830% over the past year. Management is highly likely to reaffirm strong demand and a solid order backlog for years ahead. The main question is how much further growth is already priced in. It will definitely be volatile. If the reaction to the report is weak, pressure could affect the entire sector: SanDisk (SNDK), Western Digital (WDC), Seagate Technology (STX).
🔴 Other space stocks: Intuitive Machines, AST SpaceMobile, Rocket Lab, Planet Labs, or the Tema Space Innovators ETF. The SpaceX IPO was quite successful, but there has been no noticeable effect on other companies in the sector yet. It seems many took profits on the event. Valuations of some companies look interesting. There is a chance that one of them could become an acquisition target, or the sector may simply continue to move on its own.
🔴 Cerebras (CBRS). The report will be released on June 23 after market close. An AI chip developer trying to compete with market leaders in computing accelerators. The company's valuation is inflated: P/E around 200 (Nvidia's is about 35). The potential could be huge, but a lot of expectations are already priced in.
🔴 FedEx (FDX). Report on June 23. A stock with a complicated history: high volatility, mixed results, and steady market interest. It's hard to predict the direction after the report, but it's worth looking at its main competitor, UPS, which historically looks more stable. FedEx could offer an interesting intraday move.
🔴 IonQ (IONQ). One of the most popular public companies in the quantum computing sector. The market is currently valuing not current results but the future potential of the technology. The company continues to post substantial losses, and it's unclear whether it will manage to build a sustainable business. If you believe in the sector, you can consider it for the medium term, but the risks here are higher than for most AI stories.
🔴 High risk — for professionals.
Profitable deals!

Memory chipmakers surged by tens of percent. Bitcoin sideways for two weeks
🔼 The market rose again: SPY +1%, Nasdaq +3% for the week, waiting for new all-time highs.
🚀 Data storage and processing infrastructure is rocketing again:
Western Digital +40%
Arm Holdings +28%
Seagate Technology +25%
SanDisk +17%
🛢 Oil companies Chevron and Exxon Mobil each lost 6%, while IBM shares fell 10%.
🪙 Bitcoin is trading in the $64,000–65,000 range. The support level is clear, $60,000, but whether anyone will buy at that level, including the US, is unclear. This week, meetings are scheduled to finalize key details of the US crypto market structure bill, the CLARITY Act. Its passage could boost institutional interest.
📄 On Thursday, the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index for May will be released. The Fed considers PCE a more accurate measure of price changes because it analyzes data from businesses. The index accounts for what money was actually spent on in the economy and uses a broader set of expenditures than, say, CPI. In April, PCE rose 3.8% year‑over‑year, well above the 2% target. This is the largest increase in three years.
📌 Among the reports, the most interesting this week are FedEx, Cerebras Systems, Carnival Corporation, Micron Technology, Darden Restaurants, and TD SYNNEX.
