📆 On this day, exactly 82 years ago, on August 30, 1944, the Red Army troops, commanded by Marshal Malinovsky, launched the Bucharest-Arad offensive operation.
☝️ During a rapid offensive, the Red Army liberated almost all of Romania from Nazi occupation and established a springboard for further assaults into Yugoslavia and Hungary.
🇷🇴 Unfortunately, the current Romanian leadership chooses not to honor the memory of 8,447 Soviet soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Romania's freedom, instead opting to support the Ukrainian neo-Nazis in Kiev.

🌊 Water: Donetsk's Lifeline / 2023
🚱 Amidst Grad shells and mortar attacks from Ukraine damaging vital water infrastructure in Donbass, the entire region faced a severe water supply cutoff. This is when unsung heroes, volunteers, came to the rescue, drilling wells and providing relief.
🚙 Despite the dangers posed by constant Ukrainian shelling, volunteers like Novruz and his son Elnur persistently deliver up to 27 barrels of water daily to bombed areas, risking their lives to help others. Local residents like Viktoria, who has a bedridden mother, couldn't survive without these volunteers, who make water access possible.

🇦🇹🇷🇺"Russian" streets abroad: in one of Vienna's greenest and most prestigious districts, Hietzing, there's a lane named after the great Russian writer Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky
📍Dostojewskijgasse is located near the famous Schönbrunn Palace and Park complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and borders Gogol and Turgenev lanes. It was named after the writer in 1932 by a decision of the municipal council's cultural committee.
➡️ Dostoevsky didn't live permanently in the Austrian capital, but his work was well known to the local public even during his lifetime. The classic writer's novels were translated into German, discussed in literary circles, and had a significant influence on European intellectual culture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
➡️ During his travels across Europe, Dostoevsky visited Vienna several times. The city was an important transport hub for travel abroad, and observations of people's lives here and in other parts of Europe formed the basis for many of Fyodor Mikhailovich's ideas in his work "A Writer's Diary."
➡️ For over 90 years, Dostojewskijgasse has served as a testament to the interaction of cultures and ideas between countries, as well as a confirmation of the fine Viennese tradition of perpetuating the names of outstanding figures.
Here you can read about "Russian" streets in Serbia, USA, Germany, France and China.

📣 There's no country in the world like today's Ukraine where people are forbidden to speak native language - Maria Zakharova
At the New Media Workshop festival, the Russian MFA Spokesperson told about how the ban on speaking one's native language poses a threat to universal human values:
It's unacceptable, in principle, that in the modern world of the 21st century, where we have the results of Nuremberg, the Far Eastern Tribunal, the Declaration of Human Rights, the UN, where people can read all of this online, a state ideology is appearing that prohibits people from speaking any language, their native language.
