Paid social is still an expensive way to buy attention
This CPM chart tracks Meta, YouTube, Snapchat, and TikTok from 2021 to 2024.
The data comes from Gupta Media’s 2025 social CPM tracker, and the pattern is pretty clear: Meta stays near the top for most of the period, while Snapchat spikes above $10 in late 2023 and again in 2024.
The useful part is the average CPMs:
• Meta: $8.19
• TikTok: $4.82
• YouTube: $4.99
• Snapchat: $8.60
In simple terms, paid social can still scale reach, but it is not the place to assume cheap quality. For fintech and Web3, that makes it better for education, retargeting, and message testing than for pretending every click is strong intent.

Ethena’s TVL spike shows how narrative-led growth can fade fast – Link
TVL climbed sharply into late 2025, peaked near $15b, then rolled over hard into 2026 and has since stabilized around $4.8b. Fees (annualized) still print $367m, but revenue lands at just $12.4m — meaning most of that goes to users, not the protocol. Market cap sits at $718m against a $1.16b FDV, with $ENA at $0.077.
The pattern is the same: capital arrives fast when the narrative is strong, then reassesses when yield durability comes into question. At current levels, the market is essentially pricing in a much smaller, steadier-state Ethena — not the $15b peak version.

Standard Chartered and Circle launch institutional USDC minting and redemption via DIFC – Link
Standard Chartered became the first global systemically important bank to offer institutional USDC minting and redemption without requiring clients to hold direct Circle accounts.
Matters because: This lowers friction for institutional stablecoin use and signals growing traditional-bank participation in on-chain dollar infrastructure.

SEC opens public comment period on ETF rule overhaul – Link
The SEC has opened a formal public comment process to review its framework for novel ETF products, including crypto-linked funds, leveraged strategies, and prediction market ETFs. SEC Chair Paul Atkins said the goal is to balance investor protection with market innovation.
Matters because: A broader ETF listing framework could eventually expand the crypto product set and create a medium-term regulatory tailwind.

MetaMask launched “Money Account” — self-custody yield + payments on Monad – Link
This week MetaMask launched Money Account, a self-custody account built on Monad using the mUSD stablecoin. Users can earn up to ≈4% floating APY automatically via Morpho, with Aave integration coming, and use the same account for swaps, perpetuals, and prediction markets without manual transfers.
Matters because: Wallets are starting to look like full financial platforms, which could improve on-chain retention and DeFi TVL over time.

BlackRock ETF wallet moves 20,359 BTC to Coinbase over 4 days – Link
Onchain monitoring shows a BlackRock ETF-linked address deposited 4,917 BTC, worth about $301M, to Coinbase yesterday. That brings the four-day total to 20,359 BTC, or roughly $1.22B.
Matters because: Large exchange deposits from an ETF custodial address can point to redemption-related selling or rebalancing, creating near-term supply pressure even as ETF inflows improve.

Bitcoin spot ETFs snap 10-day outflow streak with $222M net inflow – Link
SoSoValue data shows BTC spot ETFs brought in $222M net yesterday. Fidelity's FBTC led with $166M, followed by ARKB with $91.8M, while BlackRock's IBIT saw a $40.4M outflow.
Matters because: A return to net inflows after 10 straight outflow days may signal improving institutional demand, though one day is not enough to confirm a trend reversal.

Ondo Finance launches first regulated third-party tokenized U.S. securities – Link
Ondo Finance, partnering with Broadridge, launched tokenized versions of BlackRock's IVV ETF and Micron shares that stay within the existing U.S. regulatory custody chain. Token holders also get full proxy voting rights.
Matters because: It shows a compliant path for tokenizing U.S. securities without issuer sponsorship, which could help broader institutional RWA adoption.
