How to convert SDFA to STL by exocad Galway v3.0 Recommended version for SDFA → STL conversion: If you are looking to convert SDFA files to STL, you need to use the exocad Galway version. The SDFA → STL extraction workflow was possible in older exocad versions such as Galway, where SDFA library objects could still be imported and exported as STL files through available workarounds. In newer exocad versions (DentalCAD 3.x and later), this direct SDFA-to-STL extraction method is no longer available, as access to the internal geometry of SDFA library files has been restricted. Please note: this is different from exporting a completed dental design to STL, which is still supported in newer versions. 🔴 What does this error mean? This error appears because PartialCAD is running on the Intel integrated GPU, while the software only supports AMD or NVIDIA for OpenCL processing. This usually happens in systems with dual graphics (Intel + NVIDIA/AMD). --- ✅ Solutions 1️⃣ Main and most important Force PartialCAD to use the NVIDIA GPU: 1. Right-click on the desktop 2. Open NVIDIA Control Panel 3. Go to Manage 3D Settings 4. Select the Program Settings tab 5. Click Add 6. Select: PartialCore.exe 7. Set the preferred processor to: High-performance NVIDIA processor 8. Click Apply --- 2️⃣ Windows Graphics Settings 1. Open Settings → System → Display → Graphics 2. Click Browse 3. Add: PartialCore.exe 4. Click Options 5. Select High Performance (NVIDIA) 6. 🔴 What does this error mean? This message means that the software is currently using the Intel integrated graphics (UHD) instead of the more powerful NVIDIA dedicated GPU, even though your system has a stronger graphics card available. In simple words: ⚠️ The program is running on the weaker graphics card instead of the high-performance one. 🟡 Why does this happen? Most laptops have two graphics cards: 1. Intel integrated GPU (low power, energy saving) 2. NVIDIA dedicated GPU (high performance for CAD and 3D) Sometimes Windows or the graphics driver automatically runs the software on Intel instead of NVIDIA. --- 🔵 Why is this a problem? If this is not fixed, users may experience: • Slow performance in exocad • Lag or freezing • Crashes in complex cases • Low display quality • Reduced workflow efficiency --- ✅ Solutions (Recommended fixes) 1️⃣ Fastest and most common solution Force the software to use the NVIDIA GPU: 1. Right-click on the desktop 2. Open NVIDIA Control Panel 3. Go to: Manage 3D Settings 4. Select the Program Settings tab 5. Click Add 6. Choose or browse and select: DentalCADApp.exe 7.
